How about a bride for Christmas?

A friend at work told me this week that, at last, her long term boyfriend proposed to her.

No, is not exactly like the cartoon… wedding won’t be on Christmas day, nor she’ll have those nice accessories on Wedding Day…
She has already accepted, and is showing her wedding ring to everyone at the office. She’s the nicest and prettiest girl in the office, so… her boyfriend can now say he had already his gift/bride this Christmas… bad luck for all other pretenders :-)

Best wishes for her fiance, and hope this is not the only gift they’ll have from Santa Claus!
Merry-Christmas!

Everybody knows that… Men don't want to get married because they're afraid that they'll lose the typical single life, usually called "good life". Say bye-bye to party and one-night stands…

We are lucky in one thing, in our society, being bachelor is not a problem (in men point of view). Unfortunately women don’t see that in the same perspective, for them spinster is a four-letter word.

If a woman has strong desire for marriage, and the man she loves doesn't want to marry her, then it is a potential disaster.

If both are equally indifferent to marriage, then it doesn't matter. Problem is if the girl wants matrimony. No argument, even if rational enough, is going to shut that small voice in her head saying "He doesn't love me enough to marry me".
If you are a guy and you don't know that, then you obviously don't know as much about women as you think you do!
Although, that is getting different now… Our culture has raised generations of women who believed that their most important role in society was to get married and have children.
Now, some of them just wanna “get party” too (although hard to find them). Maybe a dream come true for some bachelors, but unfortunately, that is still far from normal…
That’s why when some girl seems interested in “partying”, still confuses men, and put them in a strange situation. “Is she only trying to show the wild side of her, or is it real?”

I always found the vision of a big wedding, horrifying… do you too?

I’m having a conflict that one generation ago was unthinkable!

We need to divide our attention to more and more things nowadays, and relationships and friends are getting smaller and smaller slice of the attention time.
Every time I take my laptop to a weekend holidays, my girl complains. Actually I am paying more attention to my laptop than to my girl sometimes, but I think I’m not pushing it to the limit, the laptop is not in my bed (yet…).

She’s fighting for attention. Seems like a girl vs. laptop match.
She tries to be understanding about my need to work constantly, but her tolerance has limits. One of these days my laptop will be sliding on the floor…

Because of my workload is difficult to arrange it and my girlfriend at the same time.

It’s the trend in the current world!
“The privacy and sanctuary of a bathroom is essential for harmony in the home.”

Yes, but harmony ended when she came home. Unfortunately for me, ‘ownership’ of the suite bathroom went to her.
We already discussed about equally reserved space for things in WC, bedroom, office-room, but… she took bathroom all to herself.

Now I have a collection of perfumes, skin care, dozens of body creams and lotions, beauty products, makeup, exfoliating products, shampoos, conditioner, extra bathroom mirror, occupying all free space.
Where a free horizontal area exists, corners of bathtub, shelf, or what ever, a beauty product is there.

This is a girl kind of thing, but I want my space too!

Of all wedding pranks I’ve heard some groom or bride had experienced, the most funny, daring and courageous (you must be really a good friend, or you’ll end up with a black eye) is that one of a couple, after their nuptials night on the hotel, woke up in the morning, and after some talking about how great (of terrible) the wedding was, decided to order breakfast in bed.
So the groom (husband) picked up the phone and put his order, asking for breakfast for two…

But then they heard a knock… coming from underneath the bed. And a voice said,

“Make it breakfast for three!”
Yeah, his friend was under the bed all night!

Golden rule for bride or groom… don’t trust anybody before, during or after the nuptials.

What is the worst nightmare a bride can have? The groom not showing up at the wedding day!
Well, almost every man is afraid of married life. But, why? Because people change their habits and behaviour after marriage? Right!
Everybody knows marriage is more like a business-contract then a celebration of love. Although it involves obligations (“… do you promise to…”) for both parts, each one only wants to use that “contract” to assure their “rights”, making the marriage more like a technical thing to solve relationship problems. What if people could make their own rules, and ignore for a while society rules? Making life more flexible, and analyse every problem individually?
The difference between men and boys is the price of their toys!
Problem is that men can only buy their dream expensive toys after years of work. But then we are old for really enjoy them. Family turns in a problem, free time is less then needed and radical changes in live are forbidden…

Even so, don’t we deserve our toys?
